Preventative Care
At East Poplarville Veterinary Clinic, we want to partner with you in the life-long care of your pet so that you can have a long and stress-free relationship. Our goal is to help you keep your pet with you for as long as possible. The key to having a healthy companion is providing regular preventative care.
Preventative health care maintained on a regular basis will allow our veterinarian the opportunity to get to know your pet personally. Since every pet is unique, your pet will be evaluated based on species, breed, age and lifestyle. Our caring doctor will review your pet’s behavior, diet, dental and body condition, and medical condition. He will check for diseases, parasites, and dental issues. Check-ups enable us to gather baseline information, look for any abnormalities before they develop into something severe, and they give us an open line of communication with you so that we can offer you knowledge about proper diet, exercise, and healthy habits for your pet.
Immunizations at an early age and consistent preventative treatments can protect your pets from common diseases such as heartworms and various contagious viruses. You will also receive counseling about spaying and neutering as well as microchipping.
We follow AAHA/AVMA standards on preventive care. Please click on the links below for more details on what you should expect at a preventative exam for your pet.
