Gale Harris, D.V.M
Dr. Harris graduated from Pearl River Community College in 1973. He then attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1976. Dr. Harris continued his education at Texas A & I, where he received his Master of Science degree in Animal Reproductive Physiology in 1978, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University in 1983.
Following the completion of his education, Dr. Harris opened his practice in 1983 in Poplarville, Mississippi where he resides with his family. Today his practice is primarily small animal and equine, although he also treats small ruminants, such as sheep and goats, in addition to some exotic animals. Dr. Harris remains dedicated to acquiring in-depth knowledge on new procedures and technical advances, attending several seminars a year and continuing his online education.
When he is away from the clinic, Dr. Harris can be found spending time with his family or cheering on LSU football and baseball or Pearl River Community College Athletic teams (where he has been on the Board of Trustees for 18 years). Dr. Harris is also enthusiastic about raising horses and enjoys devoting much of his free time to his equine friends along with enjoying family fun time with his 5 grandchildren.
Dr. Harris is also a firm believer in giving back to the community where he devotes time to teaching Sunday school to high school youth and has also spent time teaching at the Pearl River Co jail.
